7 Months old!!

I keep telling myself that I'll just post pics and then add something funny and amazing later, but for some reason I just can't get back to it. I'll try for funny and amazing now, but its only 6:30, so cut me a little slack...

Emily is now all over the place, pulling herself up on everything. She even has some war wounds to prove that she is a total daredevil. As you can see by the first picture below, she's not really into dresses. We put her in a totally cute dress outfit the other day and all she wanted to do was eat her shoes!!

She sits, she crawls, she STANDS!

I don't really have time for an update, but I thought I'd post some recent pics. Ain't she cute?

Leavenworth family trip

My family took a long weekend recently and went to Leavenworth, Washington. We had a really great time hanging out together, as you can see by the pictures below. Leavenworth is a really beautiful bavarian themed town about 2.5 hours away with lots of food, people and of course shopping! Emily was out of her normal routine the week prior to the trip so she was a little on the grumpy side. Unfortunately her mood precluded us from doing much shopping, but we did enjoy several hours of a very scenic drive.

While we were in Leavenworth Dave and I got to spend a night out with my brother and sister and needless to say we quickly reverted back to our pre-parent ways. We had grown up conversations, some delicious beverages, and Dave even sang karaoke! Overall it was a really great time and we can't wait to do it again next year.

Also, right below this post you'll see what may be the cutest picture of Emily so far. I'm sure you're thinking wow, really... "the cutest picture so far"? Especially since she's so cute and we have so many great pictures. I know it's a bold statement, but hey, just check out the picture and I'm sure you'll agree.

Gosh I love this kid. She easily beats out cheese AND chocolate.

Wait, what time is it?

It's 5 AM on Sunday morning and Emily has been happily crawling around and playing since about 3 AM. As if it's not crazy enough to hear that we've been up since 3, what makes this situation even more wacky (and by wacky I do mean truly INSANE), is that the clocks were turned back last night. So, while we thought we'd get an extra hour of sleep tonight, instead we've been up since...well you do the math.

Bizarre sleep patterns aside, Emily is doing something new and exciting every day now. She sat up by herself on Friday and is now totally mobile with her crazy rambo crawl. Dave and I are constantly amazed at how much she's growing and changing every single day.

Besides the neat baby changes we really don't have much to report. We're still counting down the days for aunty Laura's wedding, and then of course we've got the trip to Hawaii coming in April. We manage to stay busy every weekend and then of course work keeps us busy during the week. Time is really flying! It's hard to believe that we are now moving towards our 7th month with Emily!

I would post some new pictures but quite frankly I'm too tired to get the camera right now. I think I'll just continue lounging around watching Emily as she makes her way around the living room.

Pumpkin patch!

Today we took Emily for her first trip to the Pumpkin Patch. We had lots of fun picking out our pumpkins and Emily looked adorable in her doggie coat. In other news, Emily is crawling! Actually for now it's more like scooting, but it's sure cute!

new pictures!!

Wow, there is so much to say about Emily I don't even know where to begin! She is now pushing herself up on her arms and making rocking motions like she's going to crawl soon. Turns out she loves people and is always smiling when we're out and about. She can also roll over and loves being on the floor with the puppies. A few weeks ago she started showing some interest in our foods, so we wondered if she'd like a little baby food now and then. Turns out she loves it! She's been chowing on green beans, squash, sweet potatoes, peaches, pears and apples! She eats like a champ and hardly gets any on her bib.

Dave and I have had some opportunities recently to go out on the town for a couple of weddings. It's been really fun dressing up and going out as Dave and Trish rather than just mommy and daddy. Usually we end up looking at pictures of Emily while we're out, and of course we'll talk about her to anyone who will listen. We still miss her so much when we're away from her!

We're really looking forward to December when we fly to Pennsylvania for Aunty Laura's wedding, it will be so great to see the family again. It'll be Emily's first plane ride, and I really hope she does alright!

Things are really good here and it seems like it just gets better every day. Emily has added so much love to our home and i'm so proud of our little family. Please enjoy the pictures. I think the one of Emily pulling Caesar's face hair is especially cute.

Let's rock and ROLL!!

New tricks today! Emily rolled over from her tummy to her back! I could barely believe it! She was on her tummy and was trying to get up on her arms and reach out for something at the same time when she just kind of toppled over on to her back. I thought it was a fluke but then she did it two more times! I wonder what's next??

Raspberries anyone?

Emily has a new trick!! She now puts her lips together and blows raspberries!! Of course when she does this she blows out a ton of spit and slobber but it's totally cute! Speaking of slobber, we wonder if she might be teething. I swear she could fill buckets a day with slobber alone!

Emma-Lemma ding dong...

Emily has had quite a few new adventures over the last few weeks. She's made her first visit to our favorite used book store and was happily reviewing computer science books with daddy. She also went with us to Triple XXX burger in Issaquah and watched daddy eat a hamburger bigger than his head. Triple XXX is a drive-in that serves big fat burgers, delicious shakes and fantastic french fries. It's kind of a neat family outing because they also have a classic car show in their parking lot nearly every weekend. I think I heard that it's one of the oldest drive-ins left in the US, but I'm too tired right now to check my facts. :)

Emily has been having fun sitting up in her new high chair, and she's now reaching for things all over the place. She loves to eat her hands and sometimes sticks them so far in her mouth that she gags herself! She's also starting to roll over from her back to her side. She's reached the 14 lb mark and she's got the chunkiest little legs. It's adorable!! Well, it's nearly 9:00 and certainly way past this mommys bedtime. Enjoy the pics!

Miss Em...

Emily is getting so big!! We can hardly believe that she is already 3 months old. She loves to sit up so much that we got her a high chair the other day. As you can see below it's a little big, but I think she's really going to like being able to sit up with us. I was excited to get it for her because not only will she use it for eating, but she'll also be able to do some early coloring and other art projects on her tray.

I've been doing some shopping for 6 month old clothes lately and there is so much cute stuff! I'm totally obsessed with buying her cute outfits. Of course she's practically begging me for the stuff, and how can I say no? I keep telling her we can get it as long as she doesn't tell daddy. :) :)

We visited my friend Roberta and her 3 kids the other day, and the kids were kind enough to make Emily a paper hat. It was so adorable I had to include a picture.

We also spent some time with my parents over the last few days and they were kind enough to get Emily a new bathtub. It's very handy and fits right in the kitchen sink. Emily LOVED the bath because it actually allows her to sit up comfortably. She wasn't so hot on the bath we had because she had to lay down in it.

The rest of these pics are just us capturing some of Emily's cuteness...

She's really doing it!!

Oh my, I don't even know where to start!!

Emily is quite the busy baby lately. She's now fully turning her head to check out things around the house, and when one of us walks into the room she'll search all over until she finally spots us. Yesterday we were out to dinner and just for fun I was holding a spoon in front of her face. And guess what?? She reached for it!! It was so exciting! Just to make sure it wasn't just a lucky grab, I was testing her again today, only to find that she's really reaching and grabbing for things! She reached for everything from my fingers to her little toys and teething rings. She was even able to bring a few things straight into her mouth!

Emily is also quite the little tough girl and can sit up with some help from us or her boppy. We practice baby sit-ups where we pull her into a sitting position, and sometimes we can pull her all the way to her feet. It's to the point now where she is very unhappy just laying flat on her back. She likes to be up so she can see the world. She's also really starting to enjoy watching the puppies and she'll sit staring at them for minutes at a time. (in baby time minutes can seem like forever!) She's also started noticing her feet, and I'm sure she'll be grabbing at them soon too.

It's so amazing how she's growing every day. It feels like there is something brand new about her every time I look at her!
